FG Signs Deal With Microsoft For Free Digital Skills Training Of 5 Million Nigerians

The Federal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with tech giant, Microsoft to train at least five million Nigerians with digital skills.

The Minster of Communications and Digital Technology, Isa Pantami disclosed this on Wednesday.

According to Pantami, the deal was reached at the sidelines of the GITEX 2022 in Dubai.

The development is in line with the Ministry’s digital economy plan which aims at driving economic growth in the country.

According to Pantami, the Microsoft is also performing its Corporate Social Responsibility through the training of the five million Nigerians.

Pantami said in a tweet that “@NigeriaGov through Minister @ProfIsaPantami has just signed an MoU with @Microsoft to train 5 million Nigerians with digital skills for free in line with #DigitalNigeria as part of @Microsoft CSR, the ceremony is on the sideline of #GITEX2022.

"The Nigerian Start-up Act was finally signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari''

It is the LAW: "The Nigerian Start-up Act was finally signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on the 19th of October, 2022, making it the first dedicated piece of legislation dedicated to the creation of a Regulatory Framework for the registration, operation and support of Start-up ventures in Nigeria." And commendations to young people who pushed this all the way to the desk of Mr. President.

Now, the big part: the translation of the vision to improve the lives of citizens. How do you move from an invention society with so many GREAT ideas, but limited economic progress, to an innovation society where ideas and visions become products and services which  fix market frictions?

This ACT will be measured on how it deepens our national progress, and not on the beauty of the languages therein. Yes, success means that its impact must be felt across communities, villages and homes in Nigeria.
Young people, now is the time. #build for a #startup nation.

The Nigerian Economy In Focus

Nigerian Economy In Focus

It's no longer a news that most skilful Nigerians are exiting the country to other so called green economies. There was a recent news that the banks have lost quite allot of talent leading to lesser business performance. The truth is that the recruiters are even finding it hard to fill this role as most people showing up for Interviews are not a fit for the open role.

Why are these people running to other nations?
I have asked friends and loved ones who have gone on the Japa mission and the answer is ''Bad leadership and the people's mindset''

There is only two ways Nigeria can get better.

1. Good leadership choice in year 2023.
In 2015, we had a change from PDP to APC. We even tagged PDP as the problem of Nigeria but to our surprise, political parties will be political parties, what matter is the person in the party with the heart to create a change. You may be In APGA and deliver to your people their desired outcome for electing you and someone from a big party may not be able not deliver as expected.
Come 2023, Nigerian should wise up, thoroughly examine the individuals occupying this seat and not the party. The party becomes Inconsequential once they are elected to serve.

2. Change of mindset of the Nigerian People: (Our leaders have succeeded in brainwashing us to think we are different using tribe, religion and sometime even language). Go to civilised nations of the world today, you will hardly find the people divided.
All they want is a prosperous and developed nation for all.

What happens next if we miss it come 2023?

Research has shown it that the Nigerian Naira is soon going to become as worse as the Sudan currency which rank 47th out of 47 countries In Sub-Saharan Africa. Please see link below: Sudan Economy: Population, GDP, Inflation, Business, Trade, FDI, Corruption (heritage.org)

Key economic consultants have advised that Nigeria as a country has countless mineral resources that it can focus on rather than oil and Agriculture. But this all begins with focus on competent leaders and a change of Mindset wherein people are willing to take ownership for their actions or In-actions.
